OK, OK, I'll put your picture on the blog too. There - happy now?Inspired by my newly tidy craft room (and some new stamps) I did create a little something last night. On the left is the card made with the direct to paper background I showed you last week. The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz set and I've put a piece of Stampbord over one of the stopwatches on the background.
and on the right, a card made with our new Wild Meadow stamps. Yes, I know, more new stamps. I'm sorry. And no, they're not available just yet. But if you can just look past that, I wanted to explain a little about what I did here.It is a busy card with lots going on. Lots of layers of stamping in different colours, with some watercolour mixed in. Some of the stamping is with StazOn so that they stay intact even after watercolouring over it.
I then stamped a solid thistle stamp with versamark and embossed with green embossing powder. Over the top of that, I stamped the meadowsweet and embossed with white. Where it overlaps the green embossing powder, I was worried it would merge and melt together, but it didn't do that.
Finally, I finished the card with rub-ons. The black dandelion seedheads are Hambly rub-ons and the greeting is a Ten Seconds Studio rub-on. Here it is in close up.

I don't think it's a very pretty card, but it does actually resemble what the bottom of our garden looks like most of the time!

That is wonderful, I love images like that with lots going on, (some more stamps to spend my pension on). Trouble is if Itried something like that it would just turn out a jumbled mess.
luv u lots Dot Crackles
Puss cat in a superior voice:
'Basil, you're making a fool of yourself, the whole www are watching, get out of that bag now!'
" InconspicuCat "
" 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - coming ready or not "
" Shhhh Basil or the woman with the camera will find you "
" My mum went to Dell and all she got me was this lousy box ! "
Back to the cards , the floral one to me is one of those cards that you can look at time and time again and always notice something new about it. It draws you in to it as I've noticed the brown thistles nestled in the background behind the green ones.
Really nice card.

love the meadow stamp - and my garden doesn't look like that either - in fact, i call it a nature conservation area!
Tell Sesame that geniuses have to suffer..............
I love both the cards. The 'timepiece' card would be great for my brother's birthday next Sunday but unfortunately I haven't got time to order the necessary stamps and make the card before then. Will defo have to get them though 'cos my younger brother's birthday is in April, so I think he may be the lucky recipient of something similar (I'll be happy if it looks half as good as yours).
I personally think the meadow flowers card is 'pretty'. It's worked really well and looks so natural. I agree with Dot though, 'cos I'm sure if I tried it I would end up with a right old mess.
Keep the captions coming ladies. I'm hopeless at coming up with them myself but I'm enjoying reading them all.

Hi, The meadow stamps look really interesting...the card is really pretty. Can't wait to see them!
here's another caption for Basil...."I thought Ikea were supposed to be famous for their Swedish design....but I'm not impressed with this cat bed!"

Wish our garden looked as yummy! The new stamps look fantastic and I love the card, the layers are really effective, I think it looks brill. Don't the rub ons match the stamps well?!
I love the meadow card too. It reminds me of my childhood playing in the fields. Glenda, you say the dandelions are rub ons but are all the others stamps? The big seedheads in the background look quite different from the meadow sweet etc. I love the hedgerow effect of Christine Adolph's Stampington collections but these are really lovely. Daren't think about them too much yet as I'm still drooling over the new Damasks. There just aren't enough hours in the day. I need to retire!
Hi there
Jo said there weren't enough hours in the day and she needed to retire, well Jo I am retired and there still aren't enough hours in the day. All your fault Glenda setting us all these challenges.
Luv u lots, Dot
woooonderful.
